The United States has approximately 95,000 miles of coastline, 25,000 miles of navigable waters and more than 300 ports. All of the states east of the Mississippi River are served by commercially navigable waterways. These inland waterways provide a low-cost method of transportation for vital industrial and consumer goods including: oil; petroleum products; liquid, molten and gaseous chemicals; coal; and grain. Kessinger & Klanica, LLC understands the needs of towing companies, barge owners, salvors and all members of the marine industry that work on our inland waters. We represent and counsel clients in all aspects of admiralty and maritime law. This includes the defense of Jones Act and Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act claims and other claims by marine-related workers for personal injury and compensation. We also provide representation in claims involving vessel collisions, marine property damage and all other aspects of the marine-related industry. |
